Play Quake III arena online
with Dial up or BBA

Online play Quake III Arena is extremely easy, you can make your meetings either directly or using a BBA your connection Dial up.

- A copy of the American Quake III Arena,

Configure your server for Quake III

Create a server PC Quake

Perform a clean install of Quake 3 Arena on your PC.
Download the Pointrelease 1.16n by ID Software: Click here
1.16n run the exe to update your installation of Quake 3. Remove any file PK3 than pak0.pk3, pak1.pk3 and pak2.pk3 baseq3 from the directory.
Download segapak.pk3 and put it in your directory baseq3: Click here Download the Dreamcast Mappack from Fileplanet: Click here
unzip Dreamcast Mappack and place the files in your directory baseq3.
Download a configuration file for the server type that you want and add it in your directory baseq3.
Capture the Flag: Click here

Click the right mouse button on quake3.exe inside the installation folder and create a shortcut.
Rename the shortcut to reflect the type of server that is running.
Click the right mouse button on the link, and press Properties.
In the field 'Target:' you should see the original path of the .exe file.
Replace with the following information:
"C: \ Program Files \ Quake III Arena \ quake3.exe" + set dedicated 2 + exec ffa.cfg
Also make sure that the path is correct and the name of the configuration file corresponds also entered the server you want to run. Note in this example, is a server Free For All .:  
when you're done, press "Apply" and then press OK.

sh /home/username/linuxq3apoint-1.16n.x86.run
make sure you select / home / username / quake3 / as installation directory
to start the server and enter the following commands: ./ q3ded + set dedicated 2 + set net_port 27960 + exec ffa1.cfg
make sure the port server running both inbound, otherwise users can not connect
Hours your linux server should be ready to run multiple servers simultaneously (to activate all the game modes for example) there is a way
create a folder "link" of the folder "quake3", using the ln -s / home / username / quake3 / home / username / FFA1
